God’s Last Call

God’s Last Call
Introductions: In today’s society people just do not seem to be worried about where they will spend eternity. Their lives are passing and they are living like they feel they will be on earth forever.   James 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.  Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: One of these days God will make his last call.  The question is, are you ready?
Text: Jeremiah 8:20 The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved. And 2 Corinthians 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
I.)                 Seek God now!
*Isaiah 55:6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
*Genesis 6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
*Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

II.)              Do not become hardened to God’s call!
*Proverbs 29:1 He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
*Heb 3:8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
*Heb 3:15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
*Heb 4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

III.)           When God calls let him know you are listening!
*1Samuel 3:1 And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision.
*1Samuel 3:6 And the LORD called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again.
*1Samuel 3:8 And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child.
*1Samuel 3:9 Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
*1Samuel 3:15 And Samuel lay until the morning, and opened the doors of the house of the LORD. And Samuel feared to shew Eli the vision.
*1Samuel 3:16 Then Eli called Samuel, and said, Samuel, my son. And he answered, Here am I.

Conclusion: Friends I hope and pray this sermon will cause you to think about the urgency of being right with God. The Bible tells us about the consequences of dying without Jesus in our life. Please listen and respond to the Lord when he deals with your heart. God loves you and he will save you from spending an eternity in hell.
